A belated Happy New Year

Hello and welcome to the first post of 2017.  Following the Christmas and New Year holiday period, JTS were back in full swing on 3rd January, with the firm excited to see what this year will bring.

New Staff

2017 starts with us welcoming a new member of staff into our building surveying department, with Paz Simko joining us as a Graduate Architectural Technician.  Paz will work closely with both our planning and building surveying teams in our Brentwood Office.

The firm will also be joined by three further members of staff into the Brentwood office in the next few months and we look forward to welcoming them soon.

Planning

In planning news, those in Essex will be interested in the next couple of months, with a number of local authorities publishing their next stages of their Local Plans. The first will be Castlepoint  Borough Council expecting the Inspector’s Report on their Local Plan on Friday 6th January, with Basildon Borough Council and Brentwood Borough Council expected to publish the next drafts of their Local Plans during January/February.  Further updates from Maldon, Chelmsford, Uttlesford, Rochford and Epping are also expected through the year.  If you have any queries regarding these plans, or have any sites that you are promoting/ seeking to promote, please feel free to contact us.

In Kent, Medway Borough Council and Thanet Borough Council are expected to publish a draft Local Plan, whilst we hope to see a further update from Ashford Borough Council, following publication of their first draft Local Plan last summer.  We may also see updates from Canterbury City Council, Maidstone Borough Council and Swale Borough Council, all who have submitted their plans for Public Examination over the last couple of years.

The team at JTS look forward to assisting all of our current and future clients during 2017 and continuing our high standard of service, knowledge and expertise on all the projects that we are working on.  We wish everyone a very Happy New Year.
