Listed building consent for alterations and refurbishments to a Grade II* listed building, Manchester

We have recently secured listed building consent for internal and external alterations and refurbishments to a Grade II* listed building in Manchester.

The one item identified as potentially having a minor negative impact is the proposal to relocate the existing gents’ toilets to the basement. We argued that less than substantial impact may arise, but the impact will be at the very lowest end of that scale.

We added that any negative impact is clearly justified by the need to upgrade the existing toilets, which are too small for the size of the trade area and to meet the needs of customers.

The LPA agreed with us and granted listed building consent.
