JTS has achieved planning permission for two new homes on Green Belt land in Warley, near Brentwood. The site formerly comprised small scale outbuildings and sheds with a range of uses, including dog kennels. We conducted a pre-application process, advised on design solutions, co-ordinated ecology and tree surveys and pursued the planning application. Despite the fact the site is derelict, planning officers accepted that the development is ‘appropriate’ in the Green Belt and that it is not necessary to demonstrate that ‘very special circumstances’ exist in order for permission to be granted.
