Following a previous refusal on a similar scheme that was subsequently dismissed at appeal in 2016, JTS was instructed to pursue and secure consent for a revised scheme.
The previous concerns raised by the Local Planning Authority and the inspector were on poor internal design. The LPA had previously accepted a change of use from office to residential use at first floor, established under the prior notification procedure.
JTS successfully negotiated with the local planning authority to secure the most appropriate development for the site. Officers considered the proposal offered generously sized and good quality units and supported the housing growth targets in the Borough. In respect of the two-storey rear extension, officers felt that the proposals were visually consistent with neighbouring properties and of overall acceptable design quality.
