An application for a ground mounted solar photovoltaic array and associated sub-station has been submitted on land at Gateshead International Stadium. The Glint and Glare Assessment submitted with the application found there would be no harm to road users or aviation receptors. A moderate impact was found on dwelling receptors and mitigation in the form of woodland screening has been proposed. The scheme would provide renewable energy to help mitigate the impacts of climate change and would contribute to Gateshead Council’s sustainability targets.
