Householder planning consent for the demolition of garden wall and creation of a parking area in Canterbury

Planning permission has been granted by Canterbury City Council for the demolition of the rear garden wall and the erection of gates to form a parking area within Canterbury City Centre. The property is Grade II listed and within a Conservation Area and World Heritage Site. The boundary wall is not original and therefore is not of any historic value and is of a low quality due to tree damage.  The scheme proposed traditional timber gates which are considered appropriate for the context and would preserve the character and appearance of the heritage assets.
