JTS has successfully secured planning permission for a self-build dwelling outside the defined settlement confines of a village. It was demonstrated that the site is clearly an infill development plot and the introduction of a dwelling would have no adverse impact on the character of the village, open views, or the landscape character of the semi-rural location. There was no apparent reason for the built-up area boundary to exclude the site and Members unanimously voted to overturn the officer recommendation for refusal and approve the scheme at planning committee.
