Planning permission granted for Passivhaus Plus dwelling near Herne Bay

JTS has successfully negotiated planning consent for a detached two storey dwelling with detached car port designed to Passivhaus Plus standards. The site is located outside the boundary of Herne Bay where development is only permitted if the design is of an exceptional quality or innovative nature. The approved dwelling has been designed to be carbon neutral in construction and use and would use zero cement or concrete in construction. The dwelling is the first of its kind in the UK and demonstrates that carbon neutral buildings can be achieved now. The scheme involves a wetland sewage treatment system providing biodiversity enhancements as well as overcoming the issues posed by nutrient neutrality at Stodmarsh.
