Planning permission granted for the erection of rear extensions onto third floor terraces at a hotel in Earls Court, London

Planning permission has been granted by the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea for the erection of rear extensions onto third floor terraces at a hotel in Earls Court, London.

The proposals seek to make improvements to the visitor accommodation within this hotel to enhance its quality and expand its level of standard and operation. It concerns two small third-floor rear extensions, sited either side of an existing stairwell tower, to provide two additional bedrooms.

The proposals have been carefully designed having regard to the Development Plan, the context and character of the existing buildings and surrounding properties.

The improvement and enhancement of visitor accommodation is supported by the NPPF, the London Plan and the RBKC Local Plan. The scheme will preserve the character of the Conservation Area and will not cause any harm to neighbours.

Committee Members were satisfied with the proposed development and, accordingly, unanimously voted to grant planning permission subject to conditions.
