JTS has applied for householder consent for the demolition and replacement of a single-storey rear extension to a property within a conservation area in Canterbury. The proposal seeks to demolish the existing 1950s kitchen extension in poor condition and replace it with a larger kitchen and separate bathroom. This would include patio doors and a flat roof with two skylights. The single-storey nature of the proposal would not result in any unacceptable amenity impact on the immediate neighbours and the size of the extension is comparable to that of others in this location. The design is appropriate and reflects the character of the wider conservation area.
