Full planning permission and listed building consent secured for the conversion of the granary and former milking shed into 3 residential dwellings and a replacement barn to provide 3 dwellings to echo the former farmstead arrangement. The Council approved a similar scheme in 2004. Evidence was provided to the council that alternative uses were not a viable proposition. The officer recommendation for refusal was based on a lack of marketing where a total of 12 months was required by policy and design criticisms on the new building in relation to type and amount of glazing. Members voted to support the scheme where the heritage and environmental benefits were considered of paramount importance.
